We have had a change over of the executive commitee, Maggie Gauthier is now president since 2013,Taylor Forrest Vice President since 2014, Gerry Mertins is the Treasurer/Secretary as of 2015 and we now have a Maintance Manager Charles Gauthier. This is a great team that has come together and hope to see the club accomplish a lot more in the upcoming months.
At this time I would like to thank Dean Price for all his work at keeping the club going when it had no president or vice president, and everything he has done to ensure the executives had a great handover to ensure the clubs future seuccess. Dean the club owes you a huge thank you for all your time and energy you put into maintaining it. Now its your turn to sit back, relax and enjoy the future events.
Club of the year for 2014, 100+members, and growing, we have regular obedience classes, big and little doggie socials that are big hit.
Our Spring and Fall BBq's are a lot of fun, for the whole family and dogs. The Cold Lake Haunt is a big success every year, raising money for the Humane Society so they may build a bigger and better home for those without a home. We are working on a float for the Christmas parade, and there are always ample opportunities to get out and volunteer. The K-9 club is becoming a well known club for its activities and involvement with the comunity.
Renovations are on the go to fix up the clubhouse, repairs on the mats, new blinds, doors are cleaned of graffitii and painted with our Logo. We have new ceiling tiles, upcomming is a new paint job, a mural on the end wall painted by local high school artist. Working on getting an outdoor shed for by the off leash park and the dog wash station installed. The double gate system is almost complete, soon it will be easier to enter and leave the park without the worry of dogs getting away, and leashes in the way.
I am excited to see everyone at he upcoming BBQ, 6 June at the off leash park, only the dogs will have to be on a leash. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate this year!

You wonder, what is this "skijoring"? Dog pulls x-country skier; looks like lots of fun and an energy burner for the dog!
We are in the planning stages for setting up a seminar on skijoring. It should be on the 18th Jan (Sat) and will run all day.
Your dog has to be 30lbs or more and at least 18 mths old. You have to have a little skill in x-country skiing. Right now, you should need any equipment but more to follow.
